Inquiry essay is a type of paper that investigates into things that you don't yet know but want to find out about. Word "inquire" means to to ask for an information, or to try to find an answer to questions you don't yet know.
First, you have to think what you know about the topic that you're going to write about. Evaluate your knowledge and the things that your audience, the ones who will read your essay, know on your topic. What do you have already know and why do you want to learn more information? What is so interesting about your topic?
Then, try to do some research on your topic to find sources that provide new information or perspective. Try to think of your personal experience that would go in line with this information. Enquiry essay is not just about retelling facts that you found from your research. You have to think why these facts are important, what they change in your outlook or in perception of your reader, how finding out more on your topic helped you to get better understanding of subject matter.
Start your essay with introduction. In introduction, state your topic and explain why it's important and appealing for you. This part of essay should contain strong thesis statement - a sentence that outlines your aims for the essay and your suggestions on discussed matter. In the body of the paper, you will have to provide arguments, research information, personal examples to strengthen your thesis. You may also discuss things that challenge it or modify it, in this way you may show how research and new information on the topic changes your attitude towards the issue.
In your conclusion, you should either restate your thesis and show how your research, contemplations and all supporting information have validated it, or show that you've changed your position on the matter, and why.
